I checked the pre 2010 manual and its 7500 there as well.

If there is a new version, I hope it comes in Candy Red with cruise control.

According to the manual its 7500 miles after the initial 600 mile service. Attached the relevant part from the 2010 manual below

Your manual looks the same as mine, hence the ? on the 3750 number..

Are you able to scan your service book, the one that has the service stamps? Unless something changed after we bought our 2010 bike the service interval in there isn't 7500 miles. The short service interval was one of the primary reasons we sold it and kept the FJR.

Thats the periodic replacement parts sheet, but it differs from the periodic maintenance sheet which does show a "service" every 3750 miles.  Its essentially a walkaround and kick the tyres.  Bournemouth Kawasaki told me that they are happy for me to walk around my own bike for the 4000 "service" with no jeopardy to the warranty.

Interestingly, they also say that the minimum to get a stamp in the service book is a filter and oil change.  Do the rest yourself!

I checked the service record, and you're right, the dealer has marked a service at every 4000 miles, which is in line with what Burchy says:

So the 3750/4000 service is only a maintainance service i.e. according to the manual its more of an inspection service. What the manual says is inspect brakes, emissions, and clutch. Every other 4000 miles the other items listed need to be serviced.

Hmmm, if I'd had a co-operative dealer like that wed have probably kept it. As it was I figured if it had to go to the dealer anyway they might as well change the oil.

I do oil and filters every 4000 as well, just don't need Mr K to do it for me unless its to get a stamp and protect the warranty

Sorry, just amusing myself in France whilst awaiting verdict on bike  :mfr_lol:

The difference between 7500 and 8000 is minimal and the intermediate "services" are a licence to print money since no verifiable work is done.
I serviced mine by the book until the day the warranty expired and since then have serviced it myself.
She gets oil & filter every 8000, valves plugs and air filter were done at 25k but since then she's had oil and filter every 8000.
I check most stuff weekly anyway as I do 600 miles a week.

Currently at 62000 and running well apart from a sticking clutch master/slave cylinder.
Have had to replace the clutch plates due to a disintegrated friction plate (bad manufacture) and replace the front bevel box bearing which was worn.
Sometime soon, once I get my old 1000 back on the road she will be going to a local bike shop for a valve/plugs service and a weeping fork seal.

This topic went from New GTR for 2015? to Service Intervals.

At the last service I asked my dealer if there was going to be a new GTR for 2015. To give him an incentive, I told him I was going to get a BMW K1300S unless there was a some hint of a new GTR. He called the UK sales manager there and then, but the sales manager didn't know or wasn't saying anything.

There, from service back to new GTR.

I think that if there was going to be a new for 015 GTR, you would have heard about it by now. Plenty of rumours about the updated 1000 and 650 Versys, plus lots of hints to a new turbo-charged ZX10 style missile, but alas nothing on the GTR.
