Hi,  :ohplease:
A mate is likely purchasing a pre-loved GTR1400 K-ACT with < 10,000 km on the clock.

I  went to see it last week and it looks NEW! not a scratch to be seen, new tires etc.

question for the experienced forum members, is there anything he should be checking prior to purchase or any known issues that need to be addressed?

thanks in advance, from down under (Australia)

(btw i ride a Honda ST1300A)

With that little km on the clock and the condition you say I doubt it

Check the rear preload adjuster turns ok. They are known for going stiff and can be changed under warranty.

Oh yea and if ok put a ballon over it to prevent crap getting in, I have a black one over mine.

If the owner has been 'heavy' on the brakes, then there's a possibility that the front discs may be worn. Check for excessive wear and scoring, or test with a micrometer. Should be 5mm at least and they are not cheap to replace.

My front discs have suffered from excessive wear even though I don't brake that heavily. Interestingly, the last set of discs I've had fitted have lasted twice as long as any others and are still within wear limits, all without changing my riding style or commute.

Now let me get this straight and of course I'm going to need pictures, but are you saying you covered it with a rubber?  :mfr_lol:

The more I think about this one the more I'm  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:  Not that it's not a bad idea in a country that's prone to dampish weather.  It's just the thought of it...  Well this has certainly made my day.  Thanks.  Oh, quite forgot.  What size balloon...6,7,8,9,10 inch?

I always use the extra large 10" ones, just because there are some in the bathroom
