Asked Tony Archer to firm up the seat and put a new cover on.

Initial thoughts are that its an improvement from stock. Need to do a big journey to find out if that is the case.

It still follows the shape of the orginal. I may ask Tony to shape back about 1" more. Otherwise very happy (£60 cost)

The later you brake the longer you go fast.

£60.00...bargain...does he do it whilst you wait??
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Nope, left mine for a week. But I'm sure you could arrange him to do it whilst you wait.

That looks cool. Simple design but a vast improvement in appearance over the original. In special circumstances he will do a recover while you wait. A mate of mine was passing through from Denia in Spain and Tony Archer did his while he waited, and he didnt charge any extra.  ;D

I could have got any colour piping, but then thought this seat is going to move bikes with me. So opted for black piping

NB, definately let us know how comfy it is compared to the standard seat. Come winter lay up time, I think it would make sense for me to have the seat recovered. I think he uses the medical GEL inserts as well if you want to pay an extra £60 a bag.

Nah, had the gel inserts on my Varadero. They weren't that good

Just to give an update on the seat. I was intending to take it back and get it reshaped a bit more, but it seems I've broken in the seat and it is more comfortable. Is it more comfortable than the stock seat? About the same at the moment, but as it breaks in more I expect it to get more comfortable

As I mentioned on Sunday, I'll get Mr Archer to do something with mine over the colder, non bike friendly Chrsitmas period.

We also have a Tony Archer seat on our GTR (and FJR), he does a really good job. We did find we had to give him a nudge a couple of times to ensure we got them back in a reasonable time.

Being vertically challenged I asked him not to make the rider seat any higher but I think it might have to go back for a bit more foam as now I've used it for a few thousand miles I'm feeling the edge of the seat and vibration which isn't comfortable.

I'm old enough to know better but don't
