Like me many of us have Sat Nav's, my choice is the TomTom Rider 2 and planning my trip to Germany in August i have using a program called Tyre created a quick route, but i can save the route in two formats, a POI or an Itenary file, now i get confuddled, whats the best to import into my device?

Thanks

A POI is just that.  A point on the map.  If you set to navigate to it, you will have to make all the usual inputs, like fastest/shortest/tolls etc.  If you load an Itinerary you will go via all the way-points that are included in the itinerary and may well not be the fastest from start to destination, but you will still have all the options to use between teach way-point

Ah right, that makes it a bit clearer, i think i may well put some more itinerary points in.

Basic version of TYRE is I believe free so you can save as TYRE Itinerary file and send to your riding buddies who can open & upload it with TYRE (or send them an initial Google link)

Plug in your Tom Tom and "save to device" for your own use.

SO using the google maps way and dragging myself away from Motorways i created four rides, named them Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, what i did was paste the link into tyre and imported the route, it asked to import either as waypoints or route trackes, i chose waypoints so will that keep me posted of where to go or should i have imported them in as tracks?

Saved the files as .itn files.

Damm confusing this lot.

Nearly there Alan  I think the "route tracks" option is for devices that don't have the itinerary function (it will create lots of POI's). Sounds like you're using TYRE PRO?

I have version 6.4.1 and it was the free version, so waypoints it is then, now all i need to do is get to France and load the itenary and see what happens, as a backup i have the GPS cordinates of where i want to go but i would rather go the way i have now planned.

Thanks
