4 months ago I change my oil and filter using a genuine filter and castrol G.P.S POWER 1 10/w/40 semi since then, I've only covered 900 miles. I did buy another 5ltrs of castrol G.P.S POWER 1 and oil filter ready for my france/italy alps trip which is approx a 3,500 mile round trip  but I've not done the milage I thought I would do, so undecided if I should change the oil and filter before I go this week end. total mileage on the present oil and filter would be approx 4,500 miles by the time I return and can't help thinking it's just a waste of oil and my hard earned dosh if I was to change again before I go.. thinking, it would be a wiser choice to change when I return.. what do you guys reckon then?
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

 :sweatdrop: :surrender: your having a giraffe aren't yea! Geoff belongs to the  "dithering doderer" gang  he may have done over 12,000 miles in 12 months but he retired yonks ago  so as all the time in the world to potter about here and there to do that mileage  now to ask a man of his very mature years to cover over 3,500 miles in 9 days is expecting a bit much from the "old boy" :mfr_lol:

Now and again I think like a "dithering doderer" I've done this now and again...  since I venture out with the "dithering doderer gang" when we met at devils bridge! but thankfully I always see sense  before I did what ever I was going to do  suppose with me already having the oil and filter and time on my hands I was looking for some thing to do  but you are all correct  changing the oil and filter at 900 miles to cover another 3,500 miles is a complete waste of money and time

13 Months old now, and 18,000 thousand miles.                3 and a half thousand in 9 days?     the "old boy" could piss ball that  .     Maybe I should come along next year and show you how it's done :mfr_lol:                   PS      I hope you have a great holiday
