Hi All,

I'm trading up from my beloved FZ1-S and looking for a 10/11 plate GTR, The reason is because I'm only doing touring mileage now, not Sunday blasts anymore.

I just wondered if I need to be mindful or look out for any common faults while I'm viewing/test riding a possible purchase, I've seen a couple on MCN classifides 10 plates with about 8K miles that have just been serviced, so should be ok I suppose. Just thought I'd ask on here though in case someone says oohh don't forget to check this or that as its a common fault. anyway I'm babbling now.

Cheers for any advice.

Jay.

Just the usual mate FSH & low mileage and well looked after and you should be fine, some report some warping in the brake discs but should not be an issue on a low mileage. Just take your time. What location are you as some people my know where to look???

Check the rear preload isn't seized.
Warped discs is somewhat common, but i doubt it at that mileage. You'll know on a test drive
Put the bike on centre stand in neutral and turn the rear wheel. You should hear 'click' and not 'clunk'
The electronic  windsceen mechanism isn't a problem but check it works

Hopefully Off to pick a 10 plate with 8900 miles on it, Full kwak service history, in Grey ? or is it Bronze ? or Brown ? LOL.  Having a test ride on it around 2 ish so hopefully I'll be a GTR owner by 4 ish.

If it's brown, it'll be the magnesium colour that everyone craves for. I have one and they look cool especially when the light catches the paintwork and all the detail in the metallic paintwork sparkles.

Personally I never noticed any of that but when Charlie who has a green one saw it recently that's what he said...and he was right.  :mfr_lol:
