the gtr is around 65 kilo's heavier think you would have to get in touch with abba,

Ok, I called ABBA Stands this morning and although they have assured me that the Sky Lift is more than capable of lifting the GTR, regrettably they are unable to produce anything that is compatible with the GTR to lift it as there are no suitable lifting points on the side of the frame as there are with other makes/models. This, they said is mainly down to the fairing. Additionally they said that because the GTR is shat driven, that in itself causes problems for the lifting devices.

So it looks like its a big fat NO, sorry Asif for getting you giddy!

OK, thanks for following it up. I was looking forward to having one of those

Gents just to stop any confusion here, I have the "normal" Abba paddock stand with a front wheel lift which fits under the exhausts, noy the version in the vid, but it can easily get both wheels off the ground for cleaning/maintenance purposes.

Oops, obviously I didn't mean shat driven... :mfr_lol:

raveydave, can you put a photo on here of what you actually have or alternatively email me a pic and I'll stick it on here for all to see.

Would have been useful today in changing the tyres. Could have taken both wheels off at the same time

You can take both wheels off at the same time.
get a grip and deal with it

Abba said that that wouldn't work on the GTR because of the fairing but looking at that vid clip there appears to be loads of room either side of the Abba stand.

Is that with two paddock stands?

No, if you have a look at Abba's web site they have attachments to the stand shown on the above video which will allow both wheels to be raised from the ground and removed. Looks a good system, but as I said, currently they state that their systems wont work with our bikes.

Put the bike on the centre stand, take the rear wheel off, then put a trolley jack ( or other ) under the exhaust collector and raise till the front wheel comes off the ground the remove the wheel ( after you have loosened all the relevent bolts / fender etc ). i do this all the time when i require tyres / servicing / cleaning, etc.

I'm with Zedmeister. I put the centrestand on a piece of 2" thick wood, remove the rear wheel, then jack up and remove the front wheel
Then put axle stands under the front forks and a scissor jack under the rear axle.
Stable enough to withstand a jostling.
Way cheaper than £300+ for yet another piece of occasional use kit to clog up the garage.

I put my bike on the centre stand and removed the rear wheel, i also placed the rear of the bike above the ground anchor i have in the garage and using ratchet straps tied them round the rear of the bike and winched the front up, easy peasy. I did however put my trolly jack under the engine just in case, you can never be to careful.
