I bought a screen off fleabay for 99p with the intention of cutting it..

Last summer while in Europe the temp was +30c. Because I have the high screen and Laminar Lip fitted, I was boiling up in the heat as no air could cool me down while on the road. This lead me to thinking about having a smaller screen for just the summer months.

Once I received the cheap screen, out came my Dremel 3000 tool.. I love this little tool as I have found it very useful for my practical mind

Once screen was cut (the cut wasn't that neat) I decided I needed some edging to finish it off.. Because the screen is 5mm thick its difficult to find some for Motorbikes. I found one @£2.99 for a car door that would fit..

Once received I soon had it cut to length and fitted.. I have now ordered some black silicon sealant just to finish off the ends to make it look nice..

I went out today on a RoSPA training day to see how it was.. I was really impressed and very happy with it..

Here are some pics to show you what I have done..

My next project is to get the belly pan, Plastic strips on front fender and plastic cover on top of the tank, done in Bronze Carbon Dip..

That's a superb idea re the screen. I like it.  Its similar to the one ZG has put on his bike but probably about £200 cheaper!

Good job on the screen, but the trim spoils it, too deep IMHO you can get screen trim in a different colours including black. Its appx 5mm deep and will fit all 3-5mm thick screens. Every one to their own.
get a grip and deal with it

I couldn't find any that would fit the 5mm thick screen...

Zed, do you mean screen finishes like this...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-screen-or-tank-edge-trim-red-black-gold-clear-smoked-carbon-look-/321343869018?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4ad196505a

The ad says it will only be suitable for screen edges up to 3mm approx., but you never know you might get it on and in any case there will be other variants of it out there for thicker screens.

Debs, however for the purpose you bought and fabricated the screen, clearly it will be just fine and I still think you've done a cracking job on it.
