 :censored: Over head signs......

I was in my truck today driving North out of Devon (very nice area). I followed M5 and came off onto the M4 just near Bristol. From that junction on the M4 until i got about 10km away from Newbury, the over head signs showed.......

"SLOW 50 accident ".

The last sign i passed before exiting the M4 at Newbury said.....

"End"

There was not so much as a wheel trim on the hard shoulder, no crash, no evidence of a crash, no people running round flapping their arms, not a Police car or Traffic Womble in sight... Not even a BMW driver doing stupid things or a Mercedes driver on the phone.... Nothing.

So instead of calming the traffic in preparation to slow and prevent more accidents. What they have actually done is yet again is destroy any confidence that those signs are for anything more than telling us more  :censored: we cant believe.....

More money wasted, well done Department of Transport....  :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

 :agree:

Like you Kall I'm a 4k + a month mileage muncher and  :agree: the confidence in the accuracy of the message system is being eroded by false info................

One day they will cause death and destruction if they haven't already..................................

Should we talk about poor lane discipline ?

I'm fed up of having to go from the nearside lane to the far lane because some moron has the god given right to travel at 53mph in the middle lane on a deserted motorway  :gun_bandana: :gun_bandana: :gun_bandana:

@ 44 tonne gvw it must do your head in Kall

I'm ok now  :surrender:...............just going to have a sugar fix ............ some insulin ............ and a lay down

Was this Monday afternoon? There was an accident East bound before 14:00 around this location police an ambulance were on scene, I was on way to sunny Reading in car.50 MPH and queuing traffic signs were on. Small hatchback driver was being loaded horizontally as I passed (no rubber necking required.....).

Was good to see plain clothes 62 Reg BMW 3  5 Series nicking white van man past Swindon :-)

Aye Wolf - they were good days but all history now.  Only thing I really miss is the vehicles and what we could do with them
Four is fun.  Six is sex.

Kall, thankfully I don't bear grudges against people who have threatened to chop me up into tiny, unidentifiable pieces of flesh with their axe.  :mfr_lol:

Good days while they lasted as Winston said and some would say it was one of the best roles in the job, great cars & we had some cracking times in them.

Rusty

+1 for Whinny and Mr Wolf ... They we're good days when one was able to use that filthy dirty disgusting and now unacceptable word ........ "Discretion"   :

Excuse us everyone whilst we go way off topic !!! ..... Charlie, WOW now you are talking ! I wasn't on Traffic at the time but doing my Street Duties when I used to see them flying about, and then of course it was the Rover SD1's just before I passed out of probation .. then it was simply a matter of time ................  :mfr_lol:
