And don't forget the really small screwdriver to undo the really small screws in the fob ! I used to "change" the spare battery I kept in the top box every year just in case and one morning at 0500hrs  just getting ready to ride to work and thats when it needed changing ...

I tend to travel with nothing in addition to the standard toolkit for the GTR and my RAC card. One way or another that will suffice and I'll either get to my intended destination or back home if things were really that bad.

RAC card?  Check with the Federation - you should have that as part of your membership (I still have it as a retiree!)

Chris, through the Federation we do have some breakdown cover which was introduced about 2 years ago, I think its tied in with our Group Accident Scheme, it may have improved but initial reports were that it wasn't that good.

Have you ever used yours and who is the recovery agent?

Used it and was impressed.  Also covers you abroad.  And family members.  Bit like Green Flag (or RAC and AA nowadays?!) where they call a local recovery agent.

Perhaps it's improved then from its early days. I'll take a further look at it.

Far too much stuff on that list for me,,,, you can go on and on adding stuff while you still have the space, then only to find theres no room for the wine at duty free !!!!  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Having said that, I do have half a pannier full of repair gear for 1500 mile round trips abroad.
