Hi, I had the exact same issue on my first GTR. I had a new rear tyre fitted and the tyre initially rubbed constantly on the hugger. The dealer spent ages trying to fathom out what the issue was and did eventually solve the problem by adding some spacers and tweaking the brackets.

What I didn't understand was that the hugger had been on for 1000's of miles and had never been an issue even when the previous tyre was new.

When I fitted mine, I needed a few washers in strategic places just to get the curve right so it missed the tyre.

When I was greasing the splines on the new bike I noticed the hugger was catching. Instead of trying to fix it, I just replaced with the one off my old GTR. I couldn't be bothered with messing about with washers etc

Its not unusual for the brackets on Skidmarx huggers to require a little tweaking in order to make them fit correctly, a second hand one that I once purchased needed a fair bit of 'adjustment' I then cleaned the brackets re-painted them and fit the hugger with new bolts etc and it was fine for many thousands of miles
