Hi all

Thanks very much for all the warm welcomes!

I should have mentioned: the bike is coming from the Isle of Wight.  It is pictured with the standard seat but the garage got in contact with the previous owner and managed to get hold of his custom gel seat for me (for no extra charge to me!).  You are indeed correct - the bike is currently lowered and fitted with a slightly different side stand.  But I'm 6ft3 so having the lowering kit removed, original side stand put on, along with the centre stand.

Out of interest, is there any notable difference in the handling of the bike between the standard setup and the lowered setup?

My insurance company is happy to change the bikes over on my current policy and only have to pay £45. Bargain!

Do I get a special status for being the youngest?   :whistling:

Regards

Jon

Yes, the handling will change with the lowering kit. Put it back to stock and you'll be fine. At 6'3" you'll be needing an aftermarked windshield.

As for being the youngest, you must attend this year meet. You will be required to wash the bikes, buy the drinks, and take some of the old geriatrics to the toilet.

Welcome Jon. At 6'4" I fully understand why you wanted the GTR.

I'm quite tempted by the Cee Baileys screens, but can't decide whether the 'Euro Tour' or 'Ultra Tour Dome' would be better.  When I test rode the bike a couple of weeks ago I found I could stop buffeting (with the screen fully up and stock seat) if I ducked down about 2-3 inches.  BUT when I pick up the bike in a week or two it will be fitted with a lower gel seat.  So I'm thinking maybe just the 'Euro Tour' screen would be sufficient?

Hmm.. 21 with the good sense to choose a GTR. Young AND smart!
Maybe I should bring my daugther with me to the summer meet. It's time that we scandinavians put back some beauty to your genetic-pool to balance all that we stoole during the viking raids. (we only took the good-looking and left the gingers behind)   Welcome to the forum. Bournemouth will be on my route to Littledean this summer. Just have to revisit the great tank museum in Bovington.

Baracuda, it would be dangerous bringing your wife, reckless fetching your wife's sister and downright foolhardy fetching your daughter!

When this lot get a few pints of ale in them, anything could happen!
