Have you thought about the coloured vinyl option I beleive it is cheaper than a respray. Never seen it on a bike (knowingly) but it looks OK on the cars and vans you see on the road.

It also allows you to revert back to the original colour scheme when you come to sell.

:o Ouch! For that sort of cash I'll be changing the colour of my bike when I change the bike.

After thinking about it, 1350 is too much. If it was around the 600 mark I'd consider it.

Im currently in the process of buying up spare panels for the GTR, im going to get them painted and then do a swap over. £1350 does sound very expensive .

I used a mobile paint guy who resprayed the front wing on my xr4i , he did it under a mobile booth with infra red heaters , Im gonna get a quote of him. It will be cheaper im sure if he takes away the panels , plus I can prep them myself. The wing was £180 which included paint.  He also repsrayed my mercs bumper for £60 and the finsih is as good as original

Id be happy with the same finish I got on my xr4,its really good. plus I could pay a bit extra for some extra layers or clear coat.

"Would the "Kawasaki" letters on the left/right cowl be unmounted easily- and what about the "GTR1400" letters on the side-cowl? Does anyone know about this?"

The decals will not stick again after you have taken them off. You will have to buy some new ones ( very expensive ) or have some decals made.

If your considering re-spraying your bike , the decals are cheap in comparison.

Most graphic and print shops can make them for you, or get them made.

In my game I have to source them occasionally, and yes they seem expensive, but not compared to a respray.

They will come off as said before with a heat gun and some gentle persuasion, but be careful and patient as the ' proud letters ' will continue to absorb heat once you move the gun away -so take your time so you don't distort the plastic.

'Asif ' can even get his own ones off the web Here     :mfr_lol:

You can't re-use the badges, but you can buy new ones and paint them any color you want, that's what I did.

For my set of green bodywork I did all the badges in a flat black (vs the gloss black with the red set), I think it looked pretty good as well.
