I think thats quite enough thank you Ros ! :mfr_lol:

On Thursday I spent 3 hours waiting for a recovery for my GTR1000 from Clacket Lane Services due to a severe lack of electrons.
On Saturday I discovered that the lack of electrons was because they were all leaking out of a broken wire.
Patched the wires (alternator) and now he charges fine and runs better than he has in ages.
Chances are the wire had been dying for some time.

On Saturday I rode the 1400 out of the garage and back in again later. Total mileage,..... about 45 feet.

Today I spent some time removing the wing mirrors. This was to allow me to use cutting compound on the edges to try to polish out the scratches the previous owner left for me, in the warmth of my kitchen. Thus far it has worked a little, but I'm not convinced I'll beat it. I wish Mr K would make available new covers for a sensible cost as oppose to a new complete mirror!

Refitted all the OEM bits and pieces prior to trading it in on Saturday.  Have owned the GTR just 3 weeks shy of 1 year and have got the same for it as I paid for it

P/Ex for the ex-demo bike from Bournemouth Kawasaki with just 1625 miles on it as opposed to the 16000 on the old one

I've dealt with BK for a number of years and know them all well enough to invite to BBQs etc.  Best deal I brokered for a mate last month was for a trick 2009 ZX10R with loads of extras on it and 12K miles.  Listed at £5850 and got it for straight £5k cash

While dodging the rain I have been busy fitting my wiring loom for my extras, back on to my new baby.. Thought I had made a big mistake as connected the wrong wire to + and there were sparks from the - when connecting them up.. Bike went dead  :censored: No power anywhere and I checked the fuses.  :censored: :shit: what had I done?. A quick call to Ross at Bournemouth Kawasaki who explained there was a master fuse on the solenoid. Explained where I could find it.. Got it all sorted with another 30A fuse. Baby is back to life and ready for the next round of trying to think where to mount my Stebel lookalike horn.. Hmmm...

Everyone is very busy then in this awful wet weather ... By the time Spring arrives and the Gtr's are out of their winter stables all the bikes will be ready to go !

Thoughts of my bike have been rather scarce over this last week as I've been busy coming to a conclusion on  my new choice of wheels.

No, the GTR is not goiing to be morphed into a BMW!  Its the once every four year opportunity to choose a new company car.

4 yrs ago the choice was saloon or estate -  we had to have the most basic 1.6 tdi blue motion Passat and I did get used to its almost non-existing over taking capability.

The next one is now decided from a slightly better VW choice and I'm having a Golf Estate, just he 1.6tdi, but with the 7 speed dsg auto box, with flappy paddle change, and reversing sensors and camera for Pam to encourage her to  use the co car at weekends instead of her own.

With that out of the way Sunday will see the addition of bar risers and the fender extenders (from Canada) to the bike :-)

currently got my rear shock on the bench minus the adjuster and cable, trying to fathom out a heath robinson way of getting the oil back in under pressure with no air, I shall not be beaten!

Today, courtesy of much appreciated help from Alibongo.. we he did most of it.. my GTR is now fitted with its bar-risers and fender extenders.

Not ridden it yet but the slight rise on the bars feels more comfortable and the extenders look good. Thanks Ali.

I decided to treat my bike to a decent ride out and went down to South Yorkshire.....

followed by a brisk, cold ride to Lincoln before returning home.

and tomorrow I'm going to treat it to a wash.

Fitted the lead for my heated socks  No cold feet now

Ive also been trying to work out where to mount the air horn. Finally decided under the right hand upper fairing cover. Its all coming together slowly

Rusty

It does look cold and brisk out there Steve but nice for a ride out as you say ... but what on earth have you got in those panniers ???  :mfr_lol:
When we get away for our jaunt it will be the FIRST time my panniers will have been on for a year since I took ownership of the Gs .. and as you know they will still only be half full !!  :mfr_lol:

Lonewolf

I did tell you last year that you'd need more than one pair of socks.....but would you listen?

P.S. Leave my bloody panniers alone!!  :mfr_lol:
