free at Autobahn.....

Visit to Kyffhäuser near Kelbra - about 40 turns up the mountain - a "must have visit" ....

Staying at Kaiserhof - about eur 40,- prs. / night - very good Q....

Do I have to say that GTR1400 is build to touring in Harz?

Hi There Mosegaard, i know the Harz area well and have been there twice in the last few years (there is a bikers hotel in Bad Grund), i used to live in Muenster, and have friends that still do, and its anice days run from there. Last year i lead a group of 10 bikes out there, and we had an absolute blast!!. Simon who runs the Hotel Harmonie in Bad Grund led us round the best roads in the Harz, there is nothing like local knowledge!!...also worth a coffee stop if you are in the locale is 'Die Tonenburg' just outside Bad Hoxter (B64), it is a favourite haunt of German Bikers, with lots of history. If you have been before you'll already know this is one of Northern Germanys best kept biking secrets...if not...then get ready for some of the best roads in Europe ;D

If you go far enough east then 'Stolberg (Harz)' is a beautiful place and well worth a lunch stop ;D
