Well the GTR has gone unfortunately we did not get to the bottom of the vibes and it just tainted the whole experience.

Anyway, the Trumpet was delivered on Monday and I am looking forward to getting out on her this week sometime.

Will stick around even though I dont have a GTR anymore.

Looks very nice

Although I'm not sure why everyone is moving to Adventure Tourers though. I had the Suzuki Vstrom and Varadero XLV1000 as Adventure Tourer. Great bikes, but prefer the GTR

I can fully understand why you changed the GTR. I had the same issue with the Varadero.

I reckon the reason why adventure tourers are in vogue at present is that theres now at last some decent competition for GS and RS 1200's. At the time I wanted a adv tourer on a budget there wasnt much out there except the Tiger 955, Trans Alp and the like. In fact I bought 2 tigers and rotated the commute to conserve mileages.

Charlie and Ewan sewed up the deal for BMW and the competition was left with a fast ramp R&D task on their hands to catch up. Now the flavour is still popular and people still have cash so the sales are still good.

It worries me the popularity of these big cc scooters though - I'm getting overtaken in the fast lane by some of them and I'm in ticket territory myself sometimes !

How true, your comments on big scooters. We have an old bloke ( older than me)  who comes out with us on a Piaggio 330cc scooter, and I would defy anyone to keep up with him, this thing goes like the wind, and I cannot believe the lean angles that he manages in the bends, without ripping the underside out of it, but nothing has touched down, ever.  Fantastic bit of kit.
