my gtr is booked in on the 12th july for the 7.5k service,i told the guy i'll sit & wait for it,he said YOU'LL BE SITTING AROUND FOR 4 HOURS,i can't get my head around the time involved,i then asked if a courtesy bike was available & guess what it's already booked, they have another but it needed an MOT & a check over to see that it's in good order.

viper

mine wasnt a 4 hour service, probably just trying to put you off waiting around in case they dont start your bike straight away, i think its an oil change and checks, fairings dont come off, hour and half tops ?

O.C.

It may be that their service department is busy and they aren't able to start work on your bike immediately

It think its what Kawasaki UK quote in their manual for workshop guys .... I usually take a paper and have a big fry up at the cafe over the road .. The one we went to  .... And by the time you have overloaded on caffine the bikes ready !  :mfr_lol:

I did my 7.5k service myself at my mates garage, total time approx an hour, but I do tend to check everything on a Weekly basis, I have 10,400 miles now and it's having another service on Monday after work.

Best thing is I also get a stamp in my book.

Yep ... BA is of course spot on .... Stamps in books are worth every minute of the service time ... iMHO

Big Al, if you do the service yourself, how do you get the book stamped?

Ah, ha, yes I missed that one.

BigAlan

Exactly, for the last 15 years he has owned the garage and I have had full access to the facilities, makes a hell of a difference when you need to do something.

I think we all need to queue up to get our books stamped :)
