Hello Every body.
I am taking delivery of a 2007 GTR next week and want to understand if the bike has any weaknesses. Does anybody know if the rear suspension arrangement need any special care ie  stripping and greasing intervals to prevent bearing /bush/pin failure as the FJR suffers from. My bike has 25000 on the clock and I can't see any evidence that it has been done. Are there nipples to aid this.Should I be worried.

Suspension arrangement not need  stripping and greasing intervals to prevent  /bush/pin failure.
My GTR 1400 MY 2007 to 31,000 route miles, all OK  :tank:

I think the only thing that repeatedly crops up on this forum is the pre-load adjuster on the rear suspension.

It seems to be postioned to catch water and then it runs down into the mechanism. Many people have had theirs seize, and been replaced under warranty in the first year or so.

Have a search for it on here.

The pre 2010 models had a different rear shock adjuster then the newer model GTR and didnt as far as I am aware have a problem with the adjuster seizing.

Hi,
Mine is 2009 and spins like a top, it does appear that the 2010's have more problems

Hi Ozz & welcome aboard,
I have a 2007 in black with 51k miles and the original suspension which still works fine.
Considering that I am a 26 stone fatty and my pillion isn't exactly slim either that's not bad.
The rear shock adjuster problem only affects the inferior 2010- models.  :hammer:

Other things to look out for are warped brake discs.
You can prevent this by rotating the buttons on the disc whilst spraying with brake cleaner.
So long as the buttons can move the discs won't warp.
