Hi, spring time!!!

Just got the "Transponder low battery" message and replaced the old battery with a new one. BUT the message is still there...? I have checked the new battery and it outputs 3,26V.

Do I have to reset something or what's the error?

I'm assuming that the new battery that you have installed is ok, in that its not also low on power. another mistake can be fitting the new battery incorrectly, it should be fitted with the + side down, and the two halves of the transponder clicked together securely

Battery is ok. 3,26V. And everything works, except the "Transponder Low Battery" message is still there...

That's an odd one then, as I presume the Low transponder message is only activated by a low battery and would disappear once the battery is replaced, unless someone else knows otherwise

I'll do a bit of research

What happens if you use the other fob?

Still get the message?

Hi guys, I,ve had the "Transponder Low Battery" message, replaced the batteries with new ones, message still their.

I re-opened the fob and gently squeezed the battery tabs closer together, put it back together, message gone and not came back since.

Sounds like that's the answer then  :smartass:

The message was gone yesterday but came back today...  :2guns:

I will try to re-open and squeese the battery tabs together, otherwise I have to go to Kawasaki with this error.

Morning folks !!

Has anyone found a "cure" for this problem ? I have just convinced a mate of mine to buy a GTR and he has the same problem. Changed batteries in the FOB twice but the message is still displayed on the screen.
Is it possible to cancell the message on the screen ? Pre 2010 model.

Will convince him to join this forum shortly. At the moment he only wants to ride !!!  :mfr_lol:

Sorry if this is a stupid question but on the picture at the start of the topic, the fob has a lanyard attached. On my 2010 model, the key is solid so can't be added to a key ring. Have I missed something?

Nope. You are not missing anything. Cannot attach anything to the newer model FOB.
And so by the way, there aint such thing as a stupid question. Rather be a fool for 5 seconds than for the rest of your life !  :mfr_lol:

I make it my life's work to be both 😊
As design flaws go, that has to be up there with one of the best. Although needing the key to remove and replace the plastics covering the battery on an ST1300 has the be my favourite so far; balancing whether it's been charging long enough since you jump started it to restart after replacing the pannier with being even later because you bike's battery is flat......again and the sickening clunk when you didn't leave it long enough and have to start again!
