Even the old man has been grounded this w/end. After being blasted with winds from the Baltic , and six inches of snow over the last few days, the Dales look like a winter wonderland. And so for the first time in weeks I have decided that me and the Versys are having a day off. How daft is our weather, last year at this time we were sat in the garden in t shirts and shorts. Lets all hope that pretty soon the weather gods smile on us, so we can get out and ride motorbikes, eat sarnies, drink tea and talk  :shit: all day long.

I dont mind the occasional sheet of ice  across the Queens highway, but just now around this neck of the woods it is really grim, so I have had to raise the :surrender: white flag. BUT when the sun god starts to smile.       Well ! retired man!!!!!   I'm 65 ya know?   2 motorbikes """ best roads, and scenery on earth.   A couple of quid in me pocket for tea and cakes.     Light the blue touch paper    and                    Get in there.           Happy days :mfr_lol:

It's funny you should post this Geoff, as  I was thinking about you and the weather conditions in your neck 'o the woods this morning.

The snow here isn't too bad, and once again we've got away lightly, however 25 miles up the road,  in a place called Bootle where 100MA myself and other like minded types go for some grub the drifts have been as much as 20 feet deep !

So, I decided that it was way too cold to get a bike out ~ so I cleaned the GTR instead and whilst it was very cold it was just about bearable in the sun shine

First a rinse down with the hose, which had to be thawed out, and a good squirt with MucOff

Then a good soapy wash down with a sponge

Followed by another hosing down

A wipe down to remove as much water as possible...no, its not a tea towel  :whistling:

Then a blast with the air line to remove any residue wetness, taking care not to blast any water into switchgear etc.,

Into the Rev Shed (where the heating is on and its lovely and warm) remove the seat and make sure everywhere is thoroughly dried off, even those hard to get to areas

A good dollop of polish and buff to a good shine, some polishing of chromework

Re-attach those bloody seat cushion/pads which always fall off, and have done ever since my first 2008 GTR

Finally the job is complete, a nice shiny bike, I even removed. cleaned and re-fitted the side wind deflectors ...all that needs to be done now is to check the levels, and she's good to go  :biker3:

Very nice that Rog,     BUT cant believe how little snow you have had, It's a white out here  It is looking better from midweek onwards though. We live in hope

Geoff we have been soooooo lucky this year, when everyone else has been up to their necks in it we've only had a small amount. There was about 2-3 inch yesterday but its almost all gone...its a different story on the fell tops though
