I have a Xena disk lock with shock sensor and alarm and that could be a solution for you.
If someone tries to move the bike or bumps it ever so slightly the alarm starts screaming very loudly for about 30 seconds.
As long as the batteries are full it works really well.
The first one I had was actually too sensitive and went off when someone just looked at the bike so I took it back and had it replaced.
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

Haven't got an alarm fitted but did bite the bullet and bought and fitted a Biketrac system to my bike a couple of weeks ago. It won't make a racket if the bike is disturbed but you will get a text/phone call if movement is detected on the bike.... you could always run out and grap the little  :shit:'s....

Kev, I take it you are just looking at noise, and I agree with that because the bike has a good imobiliser on it and its too bloody heavy to just carry off.

This one is good enough for just noise.

I tell you what happens these days if they want your bike, they just burgle your house for your keys and ride your bike or drive your car away. Its now the biggest cause of burglaries.

Think I'll get myself one

Easily bury it under the sides

I wet for a meta one in the end, it might even be classed as a thacham 2 to 1 upgrade but i may not use the metas imobiliser cos that 1 extra thing to go wrong on the road, having said that, as ive fitted it, i can always bypass it.

I was of the same thinking Kev but the thoughts of some thieving scumbag nicking the bike and getting away with it gets to me, at least now I've increased the chances of getting any would be thieve caught, and that can't be a bad thing for everybody.

The unit isn't cheap Pete, plus the ongoing subscription/monitoring charge, but the history tracker function is good, if you do a lot of miles or just want to keep a track of where you've been on a run it's a good application.

I just know this bike has cost me a fortune so far, it's not that there was anything wrong with the bike when I got it, just all these "little" mod's and personalisations ( is that even a word?) are breaking me... recession??? not since I bought this bike and started to increase bike shop profits...

Might go for one of those cheap alarms too, just for a noisy deterrent....

This is the newest bike I've had and get paranoid about somebody taking it.. not so much here, we don't have much bike crime, but when I travel over to England etc, as the bike is parked in Premier Inn car parks overnight etc which I am always worried about.

Here's a screen shot of what you can see on BikeTrac.. Besides it protecting your bike from scum you can also follow where your bike has been.

I got some forensic paint from my insurance company some time ago.
Supposedly this is unique like DNA even in forensic traces. You put it on different places on your bike so if it is stolen the scumbags always run the risk that the police can identify that marked parts are from a stolen bike. According to them this will deter professional bike thieves since it is too risky for them to sell the parts on.
The scum that nicks bikes for a joy ride will obviously not be deterred by anything not even expensive GPS based tracking gear. They nick the bike, hoon around until they crash or run out of gas and ditch it somewhere. But I can imagine the pros will destroy or disable devices like that straight away.
Joy riders most likely won't steal a GTR because without the fob they won't be able to start it. If they nevertheless try they will most likely damage it in the attempt but chances are they won't get very far. But if the pros are after your pride and joy they will simply put it in a van, drive around the corner and remove any tracking device before they take it to the chop shop.
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

A friend who went off touring into really really far away places had a "Spot" fitted to his bike .... Not an alarm but simply pinpoints the bike to within a few feet where ever you are in the world, also had an alarm in case you ran into trouble ... But then any "help" would be late coming and too late to save your sorry ass from Somali guerrillas .... for example ...
I think the mapping looks very similar to that of Debs' thread ... No idea of cost but I believe subscription is required. Bit off topic but security related !!!

The biketrac has a ball bearing in the unit and as soon as its slightly moved with ignition off you get a text alert, email and Road Angel call you.. If the pros find the unit and disconnect it, the unit still sends a signal for 30 day, But they need to find it first.. Mine is well hidden you would have to dismantle the bike to find it......  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

I had a DataTool S4 fitted by the dealer when I bought the bike.  Fitted free as one of the inducements to get me to part with my money.

The alarms fairly loud and the motion sensors are only active if you arm it yourself rather than letting it time-out and come on automatically.  It can be disarmed by some fancy switching on/off of the ignition switch if you lose the remote. (Reminds me to look up how to do that as I've forgotten again)

Not sure how easy they are to fit, but the dealer did mention that there's not much room under the seat to fit it.
Too good a day to die
