O.C.

Its been a day of very mixed emotions for me.

About 3 weeks ago I changed the Strap line in my signature panel, it says the only things you regret in life are the things you don't do, I did this because my very good friend who had been battling Cancer for about 10 months had taken a turn for the worse, and this kinda put some things into perspective for me.

Two days ago this friend was admitted to the local hospice, which coincidentally enjoys a small contribution to its costs from lots of local biker groups, and as a result offers a superb facility.

I decided then that I didn't want to visit my friend in the hospice, the decision was made for various reasons.

This afternoon I decided, on the spur of the moment, to go and visit him and I'm glad I did, as he passed away half an hour after my visit.

I'll miss him very much. I'm very sad

Jeez, thats so sad.  Brought a tear to my eyes.  I'm sure that "something" prompted you to change your mind and, for sure, he appreciated your visit.

There's a lot more to this world than we could possible know.

Sorry to hear of that sad news OC .... The death of close or good friends is always difficult to bare but it does as you say bring your own life into perspective and sometimes I feel it can bring some good to others after the event for those very reasons.

I'm so  sorry to read of the loss of your friend but also glad that you decided to go to see him.

Better to have made that hard choice and acted then to have not gone and then perhaps regretted not having seen him.

Patrick

Rog.. sorry to hear the  news about your friend it's always hard to face something you would rather blank out. I've lost to many family members and close friends over the years so know excatly how your feeling right now  but it brings a  to my face when I think of the good times we had when I was with them

Roger, very sorry indeed to hear that news. Cancer is a God awful disease. Whatever your reasons for changing your mind and going to visit your friend this afternoon, that decision will offer you hopefully some comfort that you were able to spend some precious moments with them and hopefully also provided your friend with some release towards the end.

Debs

Thats so sad OC but happy you went or you would have regretted it for a long time..

Trotters

Sorry for your loss Rog but as a true friend you were there for him at the end. Remember and treasure the good memories.

Roger,
I'm sorry to read about your friend. You are a friend indeed. You know I have known so many occasions when terminally ill people have waited, it seems, until they see someone who means so much to them before they finally let go. My Mother was one such person.

Sorry to hear the sad news, best wishes to the family and friends

Yes Olde, unfortunately that is the case.

Everytime I see the news that another actor/celebrity has passed on, makes me think about all the people I've known, some good, some bad.  :-)

but its about enjoying life to the full.  Were but a short time here, might as well enjoy it and have no regrets.

Glad I have my bike!
