Hello there
I've just joined to get some info on the gtr14 as it's going to be my next bike.
A bit about myself I live in Scotland and ride a zrx1200r and I'm also building a gpz900r but have been fancying a gtr14 since they came out I like the earlier bikes but not fused on the later bikes with their curves (also budget dictates this... ::)) so I'm off to have a poke around.... ;)

Welcome Rexr...lots of very experienced owners on here, so loads of info. For my 2 penneth though...GTR1400 is very capable and quick bike..loads of fun and loads of torque...covers huge distances effortlessley if thats your bag...whatever you want..it'll be fun on a GTR1400...let us know when/what you decide on ;D
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Hi Rexr and welcome.

What particular info are you looking for? The GTR is a fantastic bike, definately in the sports tourer bracket of bikes. Ride mine all year around, 3 years old and still going strong.

Cheers guys I have wanted to tour europe and need a bike like this yes I could do it on other bikes but have really fallen hard for this bike, also need a test ride are the newer bikes different to the model I'm favoring..??? ie ride quality and basically the feel of the bike as I was thinking of maybe getting a test ride booked up.

Rexr, welcome along. I have a 2008 model in black, absolutely brill machine.  To buy one like that maybe even upto a 2009 model you would be looking at £7000-£8000 through a private sale even on a machine with low mileage.  I bought mine second hand off a guy who only a year earlier had paid £8600, I snatched his hand off when he said he only wanted £7250. A dealer would probably add a £1000 tothat price tag!

The bikes never let me down, and is a good all rounder.

I'm from Scotland myself many years ago, used to live in Forres in Morayshire if you know it. I'm even doing some touring up that neck of the woods in June and I can not wait.

A superb machine.

I've tried the newer model and whilst feeling pretty much the same prefer the '09 model.

I also prefer the looks of the original 14, the latest one is a bit too 'organic' for me (though it is still a great looker!)
Four is fun.  Six is sex.
