Have just seen on the National news the tragic effects of flooding in lots of the UK.  The Lower Lode Inn, the venue for our 2012 meet is under water.  If you or your family and friends are effected then best wishes and thoughts with you.

It's terrible to see people homes and posessions floating in the floods

My mate suffered exactly the same a few years ago when the floods struck here in the Lakes. its also really scary to see the damage that is done by the power of flood water

Its terrible whats happening and I feel sorry for whats happening to the unfortunate ones.

The morale of this is to not buy a house near a river or on a flood plain.

The safest place seems to be at the top of either Snowdon or Ben Nevis..

I've only ever experienced a flood once when we were kids. We took shelter in a shed and when we came out - wow. The roads were streams and as we live in a valley, the park at the bottom was absolutely flooded. The normally placid stream was a raging torrent.

Feel for the people affected by this.

South Essex was beggared this morning. A127 closed in several places, deep puddles everywhere, all fords are impassable, although several idiots have tried.
Compared to elsewhere we got off lightly.
Was in the Peak district over the weekend and we got to see several large lakes just south of Derby and around Huntingdon (A14).
Not much that can be done when it rains as much as it has this year.
Fingers crossed that no GTRs got ruined in the flood waters.

A number of years ago in the dump which they call Bradford there was some serious rainfall which flooded the subways at Foster Square, fearing that people could be trapped down there they sent in Police divers which was a strange sight to behold. Thankfully nobody was caught up in it.

I bet the flood left Bradford cleaner than it was before

I can testify that the GTR can handle 8-10" deep flooded roads. Had to negotiate couple of breeched river banks in Dorset in July on the ride back to Devon after buying it!

More scary was the the gravel and crap left on the roads after the water subsided.
