Im new here and thinking of changing my k1200s for one. Seen a very nice 09 model for sale in blue with all the luggage Remus can and only 6k miles.

What I need to know is it worth looking for a younger model as I believe there were some updates but not sure what?

Many thanks for any advice

Welcome to the site..

10 plate and onwards have a redesigned fairing, bigger screen as standard, traction control and eco mode for fuel saving.

Mine's an 09 with 10,000 miles on it.. Don't miss the traction control, screen has been replaced with a Calsci large, fairing is fine where i am. (Uk) i believe if you live somewhere hot your legs got a bit toasty  with the old design...

Also some complain that the mirrors are too low on the older one.. They work fine for me. The newer ones have been raised a bit..

Best ever mine's a minter for £6k.

Welcome to the Forum.  :agree:  Although the 2010+ model has some improvements it also appears to have some issues, as you will learn reading through the threads on here. I am very happy with my 57 plate, as like Bryn I have fitted a Calsci XL screen, handlebar risers ans extra mirrors to have a better view over the luggage. Below is a link to some pictures of my bike which may give you an idea of what is achievable. Sorry about the formatting, I have since learnt how to do it properly!

Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

Can't help you with year and model advice Mr Blade but all I would say is :185: !
The Gtr is a lovely bike and this is a great place for advice and friendly banter ... you won't regret your purchase !

They also have heated grips as standard, a 'glovebox' in the fairing instead on the tank and an extra switch on the handlebar for eco mode and changing the display. They also made the original 'spud launcher' a bit shorter; but since the bike you're looking at already has an after market exhaust it's obviously not really relevant. It also has linked brakes, but I'm not sure if those may already have been on the previous models too.
Despite what people owning the older model may claim the traction control is great especially in the wet. It's just like ABS - once you had it you wouldn't want to go back to a bike without it.
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

Welcome along to the forum. I've had both, pre and post 2010 models and they were both great. My personal preference is the 2010 model as it has a few extra refinements on it but I loved my 2007 model also.  I had some great trips on it and it NEVER let me down.

Whichever you choose to go for you'll love the bike. Fundamentally it makes no difference.

Cheers for the reply's and the warm welcome. Going to have a look at an 09 tomorrow.

Not many 10 plates about.

Yes, and you won't go wrong with either revision.

This one on ebay is a real good buy.

Debs, it may have been before it got damaged. The bike is expensive considering the damage it has to it.

O.C.
