Write-up on our web site. We weren't expecting snow when we decided to do this...well, not until we saw the forecast a couple of days before.

Great to see these trips being recorded and photographed, keep it up, glad to see people are enjoying taking their bikes on longer adventures.
Many thanks.

Great write up as usual and atmospheric pics as is always the case. I understand where Kevin was coming from with his opinion of hand signals, not necessary at all in civilian riding. God bless RoSPA!

I never tire of reading your fantastic reports Kevin, and the supporting pictures are beautiful.

Thank you for sharing, yet again

Kevin ... you do not disappoint .... looking at the pictures is strange as I have only ever ridden to The Millau in searing heat !  :mfr_lol:

Excellent write up and smashing pics - thanks for sharing it all!

As you have no-doubt gathered, a champ de tir is a military weapons proving ground....

Prolly best not to hang around there too long  :help:

Thanks for the feedback.

Steve, the ROSPA discussion related to when to indicate not the use of hand signals. I am indicating when the instructor doesn't believe it is necessary. It comes down to our respective perceptions of how observant other drivers are and task loading and I don't agree with what I am being told.

I also disagree with the statement that hand signals are never required in civilian use. My local bike store sits just before a left turn. As well as giving a left indicator signal I always give a slowing down hand signal as well so other drivers know I am stopping not turning left.

Kevin, fair comment about the hand signals. I just like to try and minimise the amounts of time I risk destabilising the bike by only holding one bar.
