:agree: I've lost several close family members to cancer.

Any conribution to this dreadful disease is a contribution well made

TBH, one of the greatest comforts that myself and my family found when my dad passed away was the wonderful McMillan Nurses

:agree:  Lost my dad to cancer and do everything I can to support those who both do research into how to find a cure and those who try to alleviate the suffering.
Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

tapps, its strange that you post about this just now as Gill and I went to see a stage production of Calendar Girls at Lancaster Grand theatre the other night, it was superbly funny and amazingly moving at times.

The script included these words.

" Frankly if it meant we'd get that much closer to killing off this shitty, cheating, sly, conniving, silent, bloody disease that cancer is, then God, I tell you I would run round Skipton market smeared in plum jam with a tea cosy on my head, singing Jerusalem" (Act2 scene 2)

Which sort of put it in perspective
