I saw on SKY NEWS this morning that the UK is expecting some more flooding in most areas.
This is just a short note to wish my fellow GTR forum members who might be affected no harm and I hope you stay safe.

we were down in cheddar gorge on monday and the rain there was Biblical, went up the gorge to be faced with a river coming down and saw a few properties flooded out in the villages. Fotunately im in manchester and we dont get flooding here ,as yet. If it was a ongoing risk ive already planned to dig a trench only very small around the walls of the house, and install a pump, just like they do in amsterdam, sounds a bit far fetched but would only cost me a few hundred pound and the trench could have some type of grid over it , most flood water creeps in slow so a pump could deal with it, wonder if this is the norm in flood areas?

Yesterday was diabolical, almost 24 hrs of extremely heavy rain, this morning occasional showers but now its cleared up and tomorrows supposed to be just fine.
Panic over.  :mfr_lol:

Rusty

Just back from a doggy walk along the beach ... nearly 2 hrs .... should have hired a wet suit and a surf board !!

Let me guess was it spitting, or just a bit of damp in the air!

Of course, sorry to mention .. it wasn't proper rain like "Northern Rain" .. it was just a wet splash ... :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Lonewolf

Rusty this is proper rain!

Check out the dark objects in the middle of the photo!

Looks hectic !! Is that cows I see on the island ? If so, hope they got saved. Saw some footage of York ( I think ) on TV last night. Not good.

Deon

Lonewolf

Yes they are cows on the island. They could have avoided being trapped there as the rain fell but they refused to Moooooove  :mfr_lol:
