Anyway.... we left at around 6am... just so i could wake the street up with the big V Twin Italian alarm clock  :mfr_lol: and bimbled up the 'Bike 8' south east route, which we picked up at Market Harborough.. ( http://www.bikemagazine.co.uk/Bike8/ )

Tis a cracking ride, seeing as no one seems to actually live out there...  :gunsmilie: much hooning, buffing of sliders and lofting of wheel was had... well by me anyway.

As you all would know it was the Hotest day for ages... not in the frozen North West it wasn't....  as by the time we got to Hawes the tempature had dropped to 10 degrees, the fog rolled in and we were treated to some of the worst riding i have ever seen in my life by a bunch of c**ts in IAM jackets.....  :hammer:
one of them nearly crashed in to the back of me and the three leading riders were overtaking cars on blind bends and forcing their way in.... bear in mind visability is about oooh 50 feet and the roads are soaked....
tbh if i had still had my lid cam on, I would have taken the footage in to the local plod and made a complaint...

I'm not at all suprised that the local plod have little time for bikers in that area of the country after seeing that...

Anyho..... we found the hotel in Windermere, and parked up... the owner has a secure area fer Bikes... nice!

The following day was soooooo cold in the morning that me and Smarty had to go and buy some fleeces!!!... fortunatley it did brighten up a bit in the arvo.... We had a cruise along the lake and visted the Lake Land motor museum which was very cool as it has the Cambell exhibition.

Sooo Sunday bloomed rather sunny and we were on our way back, I had set a route that criss crossed the Moores, peaks and anywere else I could find that had good roads....

I have to say the ride was was a mixture of brill roads and utter utter misery, as we hit lots of Sunday traffic, ridiculous speed limits, (20 in loads of villages) and double white lines everywhere.... add to that a couple of farm vehicals and you aint going no where..... took us 6 hours to do 180miles.... in the end i gave up and hit the M1 to get home.

we also went down snake pass, and aperf from the bloke pulling his Bandit out of a hedge I reeally can't see what all the fuss is about over that bit of road.... there are much better bits just around the corner.

Twas a good weekend but tbh, I'll keep me touring confined to across the channel, it's soooo much cheaper for a start, the food is better, to be sure the wine is better and there is NO BLOODY TRAFFIC!!!

Pics below for the nosey people  :smartass:

That looked like a damn fine jolly up for you and mrs Mogs, you certainly picked some great roads, just a shame that some of em were clouded in moor grime. Most of those roads that you did are my home ground and I never tire of riding them. Did you pass through Leyburn? One thing though Mogs if you found traffic jams up here you are not doing it right, you must visit the area more often, and then you will learn to avoid roads frequented by other vehicles. Finally Essex boy !!!! that comment about Mrs Mogs's bottom was very naughty :whistling:,TRUE   but very naughty. Great pickies by the way Mogs.
What would you rather be   or a wasp?
