I have 'borrowed' this from our American counterparts and their site. It might be something some of us are considering doing. I know I have found it a bit of a pain on occasion to dig the small key out at petrol stations.

You can click on the first image to enlarge it and then keep clicking next, (in the top right of the page).

I'm confused by two things:

1) What does the mod' do? and
2) Don't you just use the key from the ignition?

The mod removes the need to use a key to unlock it as I understand it. Don't shoot the messenger ;D I only posted it, I didn't write it.
Some people find it a bit faffy fiddling around with a small key.

I personally never use the ignition key or remove it from the ignition barrel. I use the small key from the fob. I know some folk have had a spare key cut which is also a sensible thing to do.

seems like a lot of hassel. I just took my key to the local key cutting shop, and ask him to cut a spare for me, charge me £2.00! now I just keep that in my pocket, then you never need to remove the remote from your pocket, or the main ignition key. simples :) well I think so anyway!
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Lonewolf

Yeah, that is the simple & sensible option.

I disagree  ;D

I had a key cut, but prefer the simplicity of just being able to take the cap off without a key.
Of course, this now leaves me wide open to the chav scum that are stealing petrol these days ...

Well seeing as you're being contrary so will I!  :)

I can't see any problem with using the one from the ignition, it's much easier than digging in pockets for another key. I've seen people complain about the key being easily bent but in 36k of GTR miles it hasn't happened to me yet (I just know what's going to happen next weekend now...).

I didn't even know there was a key in the ignition, I just thought it was a switch  ::)

dont see a problem with your petrol being stolen. lets face it! if some one is going to take a chance of  getting caught stealing petrol from a bike which would possible involve him having is meat and 2 veg removed if nabbed by the owner. hes not going to robbed 22 ltrs, thats if its full! so think your quite safe there!
