A guy called Roger who has previously worked at Leeds and Bradford HG now works next door to the Leeds branch of HG at Get Geared. He's probably been there about a year now. Spoke to him a few days ago and he confirmed that before HG announced their administration and 'sale' they did indeed increase their prices first.

Very underhand.  :nono:

Went to Manchester branch Friday afternoon, never seen so much stock before, and I have been a regular visitor for more than 5 years. Prices you pay are all much more than the pre administration prices, dis-regarding the prices shown in the catalogue. I went for a helmet which was more expensive on Friday than it was 3 weeks ago. It's not HG's fault, it's the administrators who dictate the rules from the point of being engaged to the point of a new owner taking over. It's perfectly legal but not nice.

Manchester branch well stocked?

Hull was almost empty - could order 20% off stuff but were charging £5 P&P :surrender:

Administrators I know, but it would seem the bigger stores will stock more over the smaller ones.  I suppose if a new buyer comes in the bigger profit at the large stores in admin will mean they are the ones that remain with a sell off and redundancy of smaller stores in less economically viable areas of the UK
Four is fun.  Six is sex.

Some HG stores used top run as a 'partnership' basis and this may have some bearing on the current close down pricing policies

My planned ride out with 100 miles away got off to a bad start, as I was delayed leaving home which meant that he and the other Pink Armband crew would have set off.  :oops:sorry Geoff.

So, no to be deterred I decided to go to Hein Gerricke in Preston to sample some of the 50% reductions that they keep e-mailing me about..alas there wasn't owt that I wanted or needed apart from a bike tie down strap which they tried to charge me full price for, but eventually they 'saw reason',

On my way home I got what can only be described as a bloody soaking  :censored: good job I have quality H.G clothing which kept me dry  :mfr_lol:

Apparently some sort of announcement about H.Gs future could be made next week.

Ah yes Rog , we were wondering where you had got to. We went up past your gaf en-route to the Bluebird cafe at Coniston, a good ride out in good weather.               BUT              When we came out the weather had   erm  taken a turn for the worst, undetered we rode back to the bridge and had a bit of a chin wag for an hour or three. And then it was home time, and my journey back to Leyburn was a classic example of what the british weather can throw at us. If they ever re-write the bible this journey will be in it, 42 miles of the most diabolical conditions you could ever imagine, torrential rain, flooded roads, gravel, silt, stones washed onto the road from all the side turnings, and tracks. Thank the lord for Goretex kit. Off course I am sat writing this at 8 bells and we have a clear blue sky, and a lovely evening outside  Ah well .

Roger I got up early so that I could wash all the  :shit: off from yesterday, but as you say it was the same in the Dales as it was in the Lakes. Instead I toddled off to the hospital to have an x-ray on my poorly big toe, and low and behold when we got home at lunch time we had blazing sun, which I guess you got on your way home. Let us know what they did to the bike!. That will be after you have washed it of course

Well the journey down was miserable with the highest temperature reaching the dizzy heights of 12c it was heavy drizzle all the way to the dealership and by the time I got there he said f**kin hell I didn't think you'de bother coming down  in that weather, made me a brew and found a choccy bisciut , which was a nice touch

I had the bikes first service completed and the brake rod recall completed

Plus I managed to forget to pick up all the paperwork that I'd carefully put into a folder and even more carefully left on the dining room table, what a pillock  :mfr_lol:

The total bill including engine and final drive oil change came to £198.00 which I felt was ok.

The journey home was much better and the sun shone on mty rightous bonce all the way home, a brew break was taken at Devils Bridge, and I got home at 3.45pm

No I didn't Geoff, I rang them first and they said that they had a 3 week lead time which wasn't any use to me, so I took the bike to Kawasaki Autorama (Padgetts) in Batley. I know this dealer from many many moons ago and have bought a few bikes off him in the past so it was good to catch up.

It was a much lomger journey though at 230 ish miles round trip
