Debs, was it easy to get the sides off ?

Bryn

Just for info .... over on the GS forum there's loads about stebel horns....

The Nautilus needs a relay

The Magnum doesn't ,and is plenty loud enough  also smaller than the Nautilus so easier to find a place for it to live ... I've had Magnum's on a few GS's without relays, and without any issues

Canbus electrics on BMWs does affect the addition of accessories which is maybe why a relay is required in some cases...just a guess

- hi Bryn. Why do you say so ?

- want to know because if i can just use the original OE horn endings , fitting the uprated horns would be much easier rather than have to pull a heavy gauge +ve cable from the batt.

I've fitted magnum's before with no relays and no problems at all.... lots have done it.... but the nautilus is a bigger current draw I believe, so needs the relay

No mention here of a relay requirement ...

I'd be happy to fit a magnum without a relay, but not the twin pack, and not the nautilus  ......If you do a search on google for 'magnum relay' and have a look through the results you can make your own mind up

Horn is not controlled by canbus!

Bryn

Correct, it's the current draw that dictates the need for a relay ... or not as the case may be

I have fitted my magnum in place of the stock horn with no relay. Makes a pretty decent parp after a bit of tuning.

I don't use it very often, but when I do it certainly draws attention - especially coupled with my squeaky brakes  :mfr_lol:

Actually, that makes my bike sound like a right shed...  The brakes don't squeal so much anymore.

Cheers
