Chaps and Chapesses ....
As a result of a bit of chit chat on another thread last night and an introduction from a new friend in NI some interest has been shown about a trip to Ireland next year, 2012.
Now this is just to test the water over the next few weeks to judge the reaction of numbers etc. At this time I have no idea of dates,( although having said that I would think May June July simply as it is off peak ) how many nights,  North or South or a bit of both ... wether to camp or B + B or a bit of both etc etc ... get the idea ???
Perhaps those with better IT skills than me .... that means almost anyone over the age of 1 ( !!!!! ) ... NB, Mr Wolf ?? could collate a list of those interested, with the above options. Input from any Irish residents would be most valuable !!!
So come on then I think it would be another good opportunity for a get together. I have never been to Ireland but I know plenty who have and they all say it's lovely and so are the people so lets do it !

Kevin

We've never been to Northern Ireland but have been to Southern Ireland several times diving and biking. It's a fabulous place - beautiful countryside, friendly people, quaint villages -  but it's very green for a reason.

We'll be over there again this year as part of the Wolfhound Rally (http://ibaireland.org/WolfhoundRally.aspx) and will, hopefully, be taking a week afterwards to enjoy the countryside. I was looking at the Irish Photo Rally yesterday evening (http://www.irishphotorally.com/) and thinking that provides an excuse to cover much of the island.

How about enter say cork or rosslare and leave via larne invite north or vice versa that way both north and south of Ireland can be visited. Would it be riders only or maybe pillion welcome as well,
Just another suggestion to add to the pot

Kawdolph

well i think i can make this  ;D rosslare not far from me couple of hundred k  and have done limerick to newry and back in one day so thats not a problem, only thing is alot of back roads down south at the moment not great as ice 2 years in a row has left lovely potholes ,but west cork ring of kerry galway and the burren donegal and nothern ireland beatuiful

Kawdolph

As for good spots up north will leave that to the man from there his knowledge better than mine.

As I mentioned on the other thread, this appeals to me, I'd love to pop over the water to Ireland.

How about we go upmarket and stay in a B&B or Hotel for this one. Maybe three or four days & avoid the school holidays to keep the costs down. I have to admit I dont know anything about Ireland as I have never been which is a bit embarassing considering my age. So whether we were to go to North or South I would suggest I am not the best person to offer input on that but I would happily go with the majority.

Agree with this ;D
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

partyarty

Well that sounds promising .... thanks for your offer Partyarty.... nothing like a local guide ! Keep this thread open for future use and start working on dates etc in the New Year ... months away I know but it will come around all too quickly.
