You wont go to far wrong with Mr Sheene or Pledge, but always make sure that you wash all the crud off first
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

Rusty

Auto Glym after a wash and clean and Morrisons beeswax furniture polish with a soft cloth kept in the top box for those little touch up jobs that you notice when not near a hosepipe ....   .... OMG ... did I mention that H word !!!

Dive1082

I used to do it the old fashoned way until I bought an RAC jet wash from Homebase last week (£79).  Then fek me, a couple of days later the hosepipe ban kicked in! Doh!

Still, the bike came up a treat using their wash n' wax

Take care with household cleaners. Many polishes and cleaners contain chemicals which can harm car and bike paint and laquers. I would only recommend products designed for auto use. Autoglym are one of the most well liked and at reasonable prices. Never use washing up liquids, they often contain salts and abrasives. Unfortunately you don't find out about damage until it's too late. That's why all makers tell us to experiment on a small unseen area.

I'ts been a while since I posted here but had to add something...

I went to the Auto store, You know the one, they sell bikes and stereo's and tents! lol

Anyhow, I wanted to give the old girl a bit of a going over having just done a few k riding up and down the UK in the wet.

I spent £25 on the following:

Diamond shine shampoo & wax
Autoglm wax polish
Trim black

Now after washing the bike following the instructions and waiting for it to dry, the shine was not there.  It was a streaky dirty grimy film all over.  Assuming that it was just because the bike was dirty, I washed it again.  Waited around for it to dry...Same thing.  Shite it is!

I then tried the autoglym wax on an area that wasn't covered in this film (probably where I had missed washing!).  Not bad but not great either.

Anyway I was looking through some cleaning products under the sink and came across some glass and stainless steel cleaner that I had relieved from work...

Why not? I thought.  Gave it a once over with this stuff (It's the same stuff as windolene but cheaper)...Jeez what a lovely shine!!!  Spray on and literally wipe off.  And at £0 a bottle cheaper than all the shampoos in the world!!!

Oh and the Trim black...Thats great for £4!!!  My pannier trim looks like new where I've been booting them with my size 11's!  I will post some pics soon!

Aleways been an Autoglym fan but was given a bottle of BMW Nano Tech Polish.

Wow!  The results are awesome, I have never seen beading like it on both car and bike.

Highly recommend it.

Really easy to apply and wipe off.

And it isn't a BMW plug!  The stuff is excellent

Living on the fourth floor in an appartment in Italy, I am unable to use a hosepipe, and one isn't allowed to perform "vehicle maintenance" which includes washing on the grounds. So I have to resort to going down the local jet wash...

Now, in France, when I was there they always seemed to be really stingy with the wax when you hit the wax setting on the jetwash controller...

Here, though you can see the water change colour! It must be about 80%wax! Great stuff and I get a really good shine and beading after.

I always wipe the bike dry with one of those strange towels from Decathlon afterwards and the results are most satisfying
