Soooo excited. Have been lurking on this forum for a while now which helped me to chose my next bike. Very informative. Thanks everyone. I look forward to making more posts in the near future. I have one (probably) daft question. The model I am getting is the CAF version. What is the CAF all about? Cheers

Hi mark. would you be the chap I met in marriots this morning. the very same guy who had a smile as wide as a cheshire cats, picking up his 2010 gtr 1400 :whistling: Hi again... I think.. and welcome to the forum
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Lonewolf

Hi, welcome along to the forum, I gather you are yet another Northern member,  :whistling: . Plenty of us up here in this neck of the woods. Welcome aboard, hope you enjoy the bike.
I've no idea what the CAF stands for by the way.

Kwikasfuki

Hi and welcome to the forum.

CAF is the model designation. See this thread for a complete list.

Some one could buy a 08 model on a 12 plate. Only the model designation would tell you the actual model version.

Nice one Mark.  I take it you're Mark from the wirral?  Not always the case though; is it stoketim?  Anyway, welcome and hopefully see you out (when it stops raining).

Hi 2kwacks. Yeah that was me mate. Thanks to all who replied. Had a great first day with bike, mainly showing it off to family and friends. Hoping to stretch it a bit tomorrow. Maybe a little jaunt to the lakes. I've ordered the sunshine but my supplier has let me down a bit lately lol. Cheers

:185: Mark, I'm sure you will be well chuffed with the bike, and there is plenty of info on here when needed. If your off to the lakes tomorrow why not call at the "Bridge" so that me and Roger(Old Coney) can have a gawp at the bike.  Enjoy your day. cheers Geoff
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

Wow. Awesome machine. Went for a spin around North Wales (short run, couldn't miss wife's legendary roast dinner) and was grinning all the way. Went via Mold to Ruthin, then up the B5105, great road, to the A5. Headed for betws-y-coed but turned off and went over the Denbigh moors back to Denbigh and Mold. Nice n easy for a newbie but grabbed a few handfuls of throttle and loved it. Two up and no adjustments to suspension yet, bike performed brilliantly. Many more happy miles to come I feel

For me the Gtrs best atribute its its ability in bad weather, sure footed, great wind and rain protection from the well designed fairing and hugely competent, I always forget this until the heavens open.

Hi mark.. ride north wales myself quite alot, much more fun on the zx6r thou :whistling: last time I went on the gtr was with the "wolf" introduced him to the ponderosa, bala and betwsycoed coverd a fair few miles that day. keep an eye out for the next 2013 gtr meet  but book early if you can, there are certain members on here you snap up all the rooms right away :whistling: also check out the 2012 gtr1400 "under 2012 pics" which was held at the cotswolds end of june. had a great time and it was nice to see so many gtr's in one big line up. word of advice thou.. don't turn up without your panniers :nono: because you will be "WOLFERIZED" and sent to coventry

Mark, ignore Dave (2kwacks) he gets a bit carried away. I always give new members the benefit of the doubt on the first occasion if they forget to put their panniers on as long as they dont make a habit of it.  :mfr_lol: .

Dave does indeed, live, sleep and breathe North Wales. Brilliant day that day when we did a tour of the region.
