just took the gtr out for a ride to check the tyre sensor was working done 15 miles just to see if it would maybe re-set itself  :shit: it's not  it reading this all the time --- psi so it looks like the sensor must have got damaged as well, dose any one know if it's just a case of re-setting it some how? can't see it needing re-programming the front is working fine! any suggestions before I order the full sensor again............!!!!!!!! I'm like a bear with a sore head now. if mike tyson was here I would knock him well out

wait and see what others say but if the sensor was working then it would start to produce a reading after 5mph, sounds like the sensor may be jiggered , the re-setting as done by main dealer is for when you have a new sensor fitted with a different transmitting freq, maybe phone your dealer and ask about the reset?

I did read ages ago that inflating to just over 50psi activates the sensor.

Try at your own risk.

To all intents and purposes, I think the sensor is probably buggered

got into work this morning and phoned the dealer at 9.00 am, to ask him to order me the full tyre sensor. he phoned me back at 10.00am to tell me my sensor as arrived, did it arrive by missile I asked  No he replied! I had already orderd the sensor on monday, then orderd the valve stem the next day. they had already posted the sensor out but for some reason the valve stem arrived a day before. so that was dam handy, got a mate to follow me to the dealers to dropped my bike off. the dealer then fitted and re-programmed the new sensor  all working well now  feel alot better now my pride and joy is in top form again, I've also told the professional tyre fitted at my works that butchered my sensor, he will need the best pair of binoculars money can buy to even see my bike again  from now on only dealers remove my tyres and if they damaged them they can replace them.

How much did it end up costing in the end?

Dave, coming from Merseyside do you not know someone who could visit your tyre fitter and have a word in their shell like :whistling:

well I got a refund on the stem valve which was £37.50 including v.a.t. I know the tech quite, well so he never charged me for removing the tyre re-fitting the original sensor and new stem valve in the first place!

the new sensor was £167.46 includiing v.a.t. He needed to remove the wheel from the bike, remove the tyre, fit and re-program the new sensor. told him he may as well do the 4,000 mile service at the same time for this he charge me £80.00 "total" which included all labour including re-programming, service, oil/ filter and a software upgrade which I thought was very reasonable.
