I've always done my own maintenance. admittedly not to the extent I use to, over the last 5 years I've not botherd with cheap repairables bikes as a hobby, but not because I got sick of it :nono: because the wife was always moaning I spent more time in the garage that in the house  I've change my own tyres many times using the facilites at work. but for the price my dealer charges me which is £10.00 per wheel. and in the case of my recent sensor damaged when he just tried to replace the stem valve, he never charged me at all! I will from now on let the dealer change the tyres. then if he damages the sensor he his obliged to replace it. I never got away with just replacing the stem valve when I trusted the professional at work. that's a  and a half...! instead it cost me near £250.00 for the sensor, removing the wheel of the bike, re-programming the new sensor, balance and refitting the wheel, costly error on my part which is not going to happen again
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff
