.

- hi guys.

- having just installed a titanium Remus slip on (and thus discovering how bleedin' heavy the stock exhaust is) , was wondering whether any GTR owners here have had experience with lightweight motorcycle batteries (like Shorai) that are lipo/lithium/summat combination.

- just keen to learn about weight reduction and maybe a more reliable battery.

£170 to save 7lbs in weight?
It'd be cheaper to diet for a month.
No, I've not used one but am always open to new tech and ideas.
However, I will wait until it's a bit cheaper.

I use AGM batteries as they seem pretty reliable and last 5-8 years.
I have an AGM in my GTR1000 and it's over 8 years old.
It does live on an Accumate and the bike hasn't been ridden for 2 years but even so, that's a personal record for battery longevity. Buy a decent brand name and expect to pay around £60.

:agree:  with George, as I can't see the point of spending that amount of money to save a few pound in weight which won't make any difference to how your bike rides in real terms

:agree: A few pounds here and there isn't going to make any difference to the performance of the bike - the engine has so much power I don't think anybody can make full use of it unless you are on a track and even then rider ability is going to play a bigger part in performance rather than weight
