I've already posted in the accessories section but thought i'd say hi in the correct place.
I'm Mike from Stoke on Trent.
Just bought my first GTR from a dealer in Ilkley which i believe, after looking through the site, is Winston Smith's old bike.
THe GTR is sitting in the garage alongside the ZX10R and has replaced my Beemer K1200GT which itself replaced a Pan Euro.
The Pan weaved like a drunk pig above 80 mph and the BM was a good bike but bloody heavy and had a godawful gearbox and low speed shunt issue.
So far very impressed with the kwak
Very smooth, damn quick and somehow manages to feel much lighter than either the BM or the Honda.
I'll be touring later this week in Cumbria and the Scottish borders on it

Welcome 911,
You have Winstons old bike?
Oh dear!

:mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Only kidding. He looked after that one.

A BMW with a crap gearbox?
A Pan with a weaving issue?
I thought they all had/did that?  :hammer:

Welcome along to the forum. Winnies bike eh, he did indeed look after it and loved that bike. Did you come up and collect it in person or did you have it delivered?
As for touring in the Scottish borders, that'll be a good trip. Shame you didn't fancy the Cotswolds with us all, the more the merrier.

Hi 911 and welcome to the forum.

If you've got Winston's bike then it has been looked after.

Thanks all.
Yeah i did come and collect it in person, spotted it on the dealers site on ebay and rode the Beemer up and part chopped it.
Cotswolds would have been good, would be cool to do a ride out with some of you guys at some point, put a few names to faces etc.
Next trip planned is the Black forest in August.
