Just rigged my Iphone up to the Autocom , it works fine as put the phone in top of Tank bag.
Problem is the Battery will run down fairly fast if used all day. So Brought fag lighter extension to keep it charged....night mare interference , engine noise & basically everything electrical can be heard through head set. when unplug the Accessory lead it totally goes.
Any one have any idea how I can suppress this noise.

Check you have good secure connections on the power supply to autocom. you could give the guy at www.chainspeed.co.UK a call, he has been pretty good with suggestions and options when I've had a problem with an autocom, though I did buy mine from him.

Have you tried a noise filter these can be got but dont know how well it will work found this site,http://www.motorcycletunes.com/products.asp?cat=72

You''ll probably find that there is a specific lead for the I-phone with a built in isolator. They normally run at £30-£40, not cheap I'm afraid.

I use my Iphone to stream music to my helmet, rather than a power lead to the socket, i use a battery extender, (New Trent 500ma battery extender), it carries enough extra charge for at least 2 complete charge cycles on the iphone, or you can leave it plugged in and on, and it will keep your phone charged desipte using it........i can get at least 14 hours singular use time, with the bluetooth constantly streaming (extender then can be charged up via normal apple AC charger). Another little trick i use is change the phone settings from 3G to off (or 2G in laymans terms), when travelling on the bike (esp long distances) you don't normally need full 3G, as 2G will still recieve phone calls, and text messages. With the 3G turned off, the battery life is almost doubled ;D
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

This kind of problem is normally caused by an earth loop.
Isolated power supplies work as does cutting the earth wire (-ve) between the power connector and the iPhone.

For non electrical/electronic types I won't even try to explain how this works but it helps to think of the earth loop as an antenna that picks up all kinds of interference.

Just taken delivery off Amazon for the bigger one...Figure handy at work for Lap top that have to use for Mapping of all OH Electrical supplies. Do use Fag lighter to what's it adapter at moment. Which causes horrible surges that bugger up the computer, if plugged in when you switch ignition on. I know you shouldn't , but sometimes forget.....
Was at Girl friends for week end , so used her Electric for the initial 5 hour charge.... ;D

Defiantly worth buying. I used the Tom tom on I phone with music playing on way to Plymouth , just to test Battery out. It kept Iphone fully charged. This evening on way back the phone was on Red low battery warning as had taken loads photos with it. I stuck the Trent power pack on to ride back again using Tom tom & music...now bearing in mind it was on the red, I rode all way home & now phone is displaying fully charged. No complaints there , very good bit of Kit. That & the Power pack still showing 3 fully charged lights.
