Some of you may have noticed a few problems accessing the site in the last few days, mainly to do with the database.

I'm on the problem and expect to have it resolved in the next few days.

If you can't access the site for some reason, just try again in a short while.

I've also noticed that when I post in a thread the update is taking a while to register after you click on POST at the bottom right of the screen.
However I've also had Virgin Media out to upgrade my broadband service and I'm not convinced its set up right just yet.  I need to get them back after my jols.

It could be related but I doubt it

I noticed last night the server had crawled to a standstill

Looks like a rogue process that was eating up the memory. The fix for that consumed 100% CPU.

So I've disabled it (doesn't affect the running of this site)

I really need to do an upgrade ...
