Well Chiswick Honda to be precise... i am seeing the Dealer Pricipal tomorrow..... soooooo this is how it goes.

We ordered the VFR on Saturday 12th of April on the pretext that it would be here by late April or early May as we have a trip booked and we will need to get it run in etc.... no problemo they said.
April came and went and so into may..... 2nd or 3rd week they said... really! so you have no idea when your own stock is coming in  :hammer: Ok Mogs is getting the arse now cos i have a feeling i'm being jerked about.

Finally it arrives 0n the 4th of may, but you cant have it for 2 weeks as the workshop is booked up......   :gun_bandana: soooo i explode a bit and try to understand WTF it takes that long to PDI a bike and fit a few bits and bobs, so we argue back and forth and in the end I win and the bike gets done.... Remember they knew I had a specific date that i had to have a bike capable of touring on.

ah.....luggage....not here yet.....
soooo when is it coming then
er.... well originaly December...but we're hoping for sooner...
Fookin BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!....so let me get this staight, you knowingly advertised an offer (free luggage) as an incentive to purchase a Bike knowing you were unable to supply the Luggage and having no idea when you could..... sharp practise at best and possibly in breach of advertising regs..... oh it gets better though...cos in another life I worked for FCE Bank... thas car finance so i know a bit about finance and by getting me to sign the finance docs, knowing that if I had known about the delivery date and lack of luggage, i would not have signed the Finance  Agreement, they are in serious poo with the FSA...cos it do state.

'One of the most fundamental legal requirements associated with signing a Financial contract is that the execution must be a voluntary act. According to contract law, if a person is pressured or coerced into signing an agreement, the contract can be set aside as void and unenforceable. Part of signing as a free and voluntary act, a person cannot be duped into signing a contract. A contract is not enforceable if a party to the agreement signs it based on fraudulent representations.

which basicaly means if you make a false staement in order to get a customer to sign, you has broken the law.

soooo as we stand now, we have no luggage and only vauge assurances as to when it is supposed to turn up.... tomorrow afternoon I will be getting some answers otherwise Mogs will be starting a complaint trail that runs From Honda UK to the FSA (whom i have already spoken to to ensure my facts are correct)

Tis a nice Bike but once again ...fookin shoody dealership... It would be nice if the Bike mags looked at how bad in general the dealership networks are.... but me thinks that they (the mags) are too busy getting freebies and borrowing bikes to upset anyone.  :censored:

I totally agree with the way you are thinking Mogs. I'd be tempted to just walk away and tell them to stick it!

O.C.

Bloody hell Mogs, that's just downright disreputable behaviour, talk about desperate measures to sell a bloody bike and get that teeeny bit closer to their sales targets and potential retrospective sales bonus's.....craftyy bastards

Tell 'em to shove where the sun don't shine and get a full refund [/b

Very poor show for a Honda dealer .. or any dealer for that matter ... rubbish customer service, and of course I am being polite !

Mogs, don't bother with the FSA, they cannot and will not act directly with your complaint, and they deal with Financial Services and not consumer credit law. Put your complaint in writing to the dealer principle. The people to go to after the dealer is the Office of Fair Trading and your local Trading Standards. The FSA can only deal with the mis sale or mis advice relating to financial services and related products. Your issue sounds like a cross over between consumer credit law and contract law. The danger is that the two regulatory bodies will sat it's the other's problem. Contact the Trading Standards first and ask their advice, then go to the OFT, and finally the Financial Services Ombudsman, who covers complaints relating to FSA, OFT arenas. I personally would also have a go at Honda UK.

Mogster

Cheers for that Chris, i forgot about the OFT, good web site and more ammunition......

Mind you... how things have changed.... 25 years ago I'd have just a lobbed a petrol bomb into the dealership in the wee small hours...   :punk:  :mfr_lol: ,,,,,,ah the calming influence of a good woman

Mogs 1... Honda 0..... get in there...  :gunsmilie: seems after my email ref the OFT, FSA, and anyone else I could think off, bowels have loosened in the sales department... and they are going to fit a set of Black luggage ....well how bloody hard was that then ffs
