I was at the BMF show at Peterborough today and at the Police Road safety stand was what look like a blue (08 I think?) unmarked police bike with blue lights fitted on each wing mirror and a camera mounted just below the screen and above the headlight.

It looked totally standard apart from that and later when I left the show a copper was leaving on it.

Just be careful around Cambridgeshire :police:

Well they have a job to do ya know  :mfr_lol:

In Northern Ireland they are a bit more conspicuous

I spotted this one at the 2011 NW 200

And this one at a 'parade' event I was at in 2008

BE KIND...

Yea ... anyone would think they look at these sites too !

We also saw the fully dressed police GTR at the NW200, it was used to escort the track marshalls and went round the corners quite handily at University where we were stood. We only saw one other GTR, a silver grey mike parked near the start finish grid on Friday

The unmarked GTR is a 2010 Blue GTR, bog standard as due the police regulations there not allowed to change anything, have to use OEM Tyres as well - but honestly - do they need anything else?

The thing you missed is that it has full onboard camera mounted  (drilled) into the space just below the screen. It also has blue lights in the indicators.  And panniers carry all the video equipment.

Scary.... I actually spoke to the copper a couple of days after they picked it up 2 years ago.

Some consolation is, policeman are heavy handed as when I spoke to the same copper last year, they keep braking it.... :-)

Yes, if there's one thing Coppers are good at its breaking expensive toys and gadgets.   :whistling:
Memo to self.....never pretend you know how to use ANPR when you dont and just as important, never leave a Prolaser on the roof of the car,  cause someone might just drive off and not have seen it!  :innocent:
Apparantly theyr'e quite expensive to fix,

Well, then there must be at least 2 of those around. I saw a blue GTR matching the description last year in the showroom at M&S Motorcycles in Newcastle when I picked mine up. The salesman showed me all the gadgets and told me that it wasn't for sale but they had it only in for a demo for the plod in Durham.
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

Manufacturers quite often supply one vehicle and pass it around for assessment by police/ambulance/fire services etc. I remember working for SAAB when they were trying to get into the UK police market in the early 90s. The 9000turbos were great fun in Swedish "POLIS" guise.

Mr Wolf.... NEVER put things on the roof of the car !!!  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: !  LTi lasers are very expensive !!!!
