first of all..! not been on the forum as much lately because I've been decorating the hall and the bedroom  my punishment for going away twice this year without her  just thought I would give you an update on my new steed. since collecting it, not been out on it much so wanted to get them 600 miles done as soon as possible, so venture out today for a 285 mile round trip around northwales  now on 450 miles so another ride out maybe on monday should get the 600 miles in  then it can have it's first service. excellent machine handles like its on rails. when it's run in, should beable to put it through its paces and see if it's better than the zx636cf6 model I had up untill last year.  there is some big improvements over the earlier models, such as the big piston forks, more midrange, e.t.c and is 10kg lighter, so it's sounds promising. just fitted a radiator gaurd and just bought a bagster tank cover for it so I can use my tank bag  well I've got to have somethink  to carry my butties in when using it for work..!  did not stop off to much, so only took a few pic of the bike  next time will add some scenery

I hope your using your own means of internet access Mr wolf  the zx6r is booked next monday for it's first service, then another 400 miles for it's final running in, then I can start using the engine for what it was designed for  the trouble with the zx6r you need to keep the revs up to get the best from the engine. loving the bike  up to now, still think I made the right decison in p/x the zzr! I just felt the zzr and gtr where to similar to keep at the same time which kind of "defeats the object" of having 2 bikes. p.s looking forward the cotswolds meet, time is pressing upon us now

Ah, Mr 2 Kwacks is up with the lark, as am I...... running in duty beckons for me as well... I have Smartys VFR12 to do...'cept i got buckets of torque to play with and cos it's a VTEC, only a 300 mile running period  :gunsmilie:
She is like the Bumblebee, she should not fly....... and yet she does!

Hey 2kwacks that bike looks very nice, and I like the colour

What are the "big piston Forks" ? does that mean thicker stantions, which is probably why the handling is so good

I can see why you are enjoying riding the ZX6...sadly for me those days are over

yes the "big piston forks" are one of many upgrades. thanks for your interest, always enjoy talking about bikes  I've always had a middel weight in the garage and did miss the handling and sound of the engine screaming and of course there like shit of  a red hot shovel Ho   all supersport middle weights now are all excellent machines, so was :undecided: on the cbr600,gsxr600 or the excellent triumph triple 675. so after doing some enjoyable  research on all 4 bikes, I decided the zx6r was the best overall, plus I don't need to change my user name..! result  anyway take a look at this review it will tell you everythink about the upgrades on the  zx6r  better than me trying to explain, about half way down the "write up" theres a piece on the revamp forks

:agree: running in is a pain in the arse  especially with the zx6r..! it dose not like low revs. need to keep the revs high, then it's as happy as a pig in :shit: and to come to think of it.. so will I be..

cheers 2kwacks that's an interesting article, and a bloody good video, which probably explains why the ZX6r is doing so well in Supersport racing

Its amazing how tecnolodgy has come on leaps and bounds within road machines

many moons ago I had the zzr600, in it's day it was the king of the supersport middel weights and still can give the newer middel weights a run for there money in the right hands. if I remember correctly they where capable of 155 m.p.h and the standard 1/4 mile in 11 seconds, and the 0 to 60 was 3.5 seconds and that was back in 1990  the model I had was the 1995 600E model, so the 600 supersport as come on  but have kawasaki done enough considering they have had 22 years from 1990 to 2012 to design the "to date" zx6r! they say it's hard to improve on perfection. well kawsaki have, it's lighter, faster, better brakes, precise handling, dam it's even better looking  but after 22 years of experience, those kawasaki boffins should have been able to make the bugger "hover" as well  come kawasaki get your finger out..! us bikers demand the impossible, or is it  :undecided:...!

I took my ZZR1100 to Bradford Motorcycles for a service back in the early 90s, and they loaned me a ZZR 600....bloody hell it seemed pedestrian by comparison

Nice little bike though.. a mate in Northern Ireland still has one he bought new in about 96 its probably done a squillion miles by now

well the zzr1100 was also the king in it's day, and compaired to the zzr600 you had 500cc advantage  but theses specs are interesting considering the zzr1100 had 500cc avantage over the zzr600, and the zzr600 22 years ago compaired to the 2009 zx6r which is also the current zx6r

1990 zzr1100 top speed 172 m.p.h, 0 to 60 3 seconds     1/4 mile 11 seconds
1990 zzr600   top speed 155 mp.h   0 to 60 3.5 seconds  1/4 mile 11.3 seconds
2009 zx6r       top speed 169 m.p.h  0 to 60 3 seconds     1/4 mile 10. 6 seconds

And the speed limit is???  :ohplease:

No panniers, no top box, uncomfortable as hell and ugly as sin - so what is it actually good for?
Absolutely nothing.  :sleep1:
The later you brake the longer you go fast.
