What sort of timescale did you do it in, from the time you got to mainland europe?
Did it take several days to get there?

Mogster

We are looking to get there in 3 days...
First days run from Home in St Albans to somewhere near Luxemburg...2'nd day are we are aiming for Ulm...3rd day should see us in the hotel near Grossglockner, where we have a 2 day stop over planned so we can go and 'play' on the Alpine pass. and then from there we go to Bled in Slovinia for a weeks stay.

You can do the trip in 2 days, I would imagine, by sitting on the autoroute but then you may as well have gone by car..

Smarty, my other half, has already started packing.... not cos she keen, cos she takes bloody ages!... actually she is a bit keen this time cos her new VFR is sitting in a crate in Chiswick at the mo..

When ya do the Grossglockner, be aware that the North side is usually clogged to **** with caravans and coaches and OAPs all doing 10Mph. Don't be depressed, but do plan on getting to the top, seeing the view (and if yer lucky a Marmot or 2), then head down the SOUTH side towards GrossKirchheim. The road is not as twisty as the North side but has WAY less traffic and in my opinion is more scenic and can be run at a decent pace. We did a loop from Altenmarkt where we were staying to the 107, over the Grossglockner and then the 106 to Spittal an der Drau and back to the hotel. 280kms, about 6 hours with stops.

IF you get lucky and get to run the north 107 with minimal traffic,.. then do it again for me.
Would be an awesome road without all the ****ing slow moving road-blocks.

We did as part of a bigger eurotour but you can do it from Calais comfortably in 2 days, it's only just over 700 miles, even not using motorways with a bit of hard riding it can be done in 2 very long days.
