Placed an order for a Power Commander V for my 08 model bike. According to the DynoJet site it's only compatible with 09 and 10 models. As the 09 and 08 models are the same, it shouldn't be a problem fitting.

The aim was to fit it today, but as the unit is yet to arrive Its postponed till next week. At the same time I'm thinking of pulling out the flies and adding a K&N filter. The onto a dyno for a custom map  ;D

I'll post pics of the install

Are these easy to install? Not interested in pulling the flies out on '10 model, but wouldn't mind a PC V for smoothing out the bottom end

Mr Blek

Installation is a breeze on the ZZR 1400 as is pulling the flies out.

It is a death wish though.

Finally got the PC V today.

First thing, if you have a x64 based Windows OS, the installation CD is useless. Go to the power commander website and download the software.

Second thing, the maps install in the x64 version of program files, not the x86 version.

Thirdly, might be a good idea to upgrade the firmware at the same time.

On the box there's a warning that the PC V shouldn't be used for everyday road riding. Ahem - last time I looked the 1400 GTR is a road bike, not track bike. Disclaimer should anything happen.

Plan is to install tomorrow with the standard European map. Doubt I will have a chance to pull the flies out tomorrow so will leave that for another day.

What's the difference?

To be honest, not much I thought. It seemed to make the bottom end smoother but I can't say for sure. However, with the flies removed its a different beast: http://www.gtr1400.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,49.0.html

OK, I've ordered the Auto Tune as well. Install scheduled next weekend.

NB, if you use a standard map, Auto tune is great. I have a custom map, therefore no longer need my auto tune as the map does not deviate one bit from the original table. Pricey but the best.
