Now, I am not suggesting that we go back to the Feather-bed look, but does anyone (no of course not -  but I will pose the question anyway ) feel that the top frame on the GTR is inclined upwards just a little too steeply?

The look is much improved when the boxes are in place.   Though why would you want to ride withem permanently in place
(sorry Mr Lonewolf )

Of course that steep rake means that the can does not get in the way...and yet......................also,as for the co-pilot looking over your shoulder.....not sure I see that as a benefit  :mfr_lol:

Am I about to be the victim of a rant  Or will I simply be ignored with contempt?   :listencarefully:  too late now I've
cl.........

Just because many do it does not make it right. Just because many think it does not make it true.

Oh ... I expect some proper ranting  :mfr_lol:

I agree .. looks super with boxes on but I only ever use the top box so they live in the garage ... I may just get them out to please Mr Wolf when we go to the Cotswolds ... but on the other hand ...

No idea what you guys are on about.  :stupid:
Looks perfectly fine to me with or without panniers.
But then I hardly ever take them off.  :innocent:
I'm afraid I'm with the wolf on this one!  :whistling:
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

If you are refferring to the pillion seat sitting higher up V a flat seat as on old bikes then this is one reason I bought the GTR.

We rode a few bikes and i was dead set on a new FJR , i liked the build quality, the styling, the exhaust layout ,just the way it handled, the GTR was a very close second. My wife pillion who always rides with me didnt like the FJR because it had a flat seat and she couldnt see over me or indead a decent road view, we do a lot of touring and her sightseeing is as important as my ride experience. She loved the GTR for its pure back seat visability, so we plumpt for the gtr and have no regrets.

And what was wrong with the featherbed look? I loved the lines of my wideline with 5 gallon Dresda fibreglass tank, and fibreglass flat seat.

viper

nothing wrong with the flatseat look, most of my favourite bikes are this way.I just think on a modern touring bike such as the GTR , pillion visability is something kawasaki have considered.

O.C.

 The GTR is perfect, and looks as good as it performs, (thats my tenpenneth) the rear subframe is an intergral part of bthe bikes construction

Last pillion that saw my speedo played merry hell after coming down Creg Ny Baa at a touch over 30mph. I can still remember my hands shaking when picking up a pint in the bar.

I once pointed to the speedo so that my Pillion could see that we were doing 130Mph.
She nudged me once to signal approval, so we went a bit faster.
I decided to keep that one.

As for style and taste, I never had either so for me it's fine. Just needs some matt black lace fringes.  :mfr_lol:

Hi Viper,

sat on an FJR today and was surprised at how close the frame rake was to that of the GTR. Then I sat on the pillion and my head was in the clouds  :mfr_lol:  Best place for it and certainly better than when it's up my :asshole:  :mfr_lol:

(will I get shouted at for talking about Yams again?)  I can't imagine an FJR forum like this  one..  :mfr_lol::mfr_lol:  Maybe a few of you guys could pretend to have FJRs and join whatever it is, the FJR forum I mean
Just because many do it does not make it right. Just because many think it does not make it true.

head in the clouds eh, i guess we must have just imagined the lower pillion position on our 4 hour test ride,

If you actually ever get to own a FJR / GTR then you can speak from experience . Im beginning to wonder if you have just come across here from another forum to annoy the hell out of us

I'll say no more on the subject.
