In which area did you live Mr Bloomer?   I worked on Ave Louise for a few years.
Ah Bruxelles!   Ah! les moules (and frites) washed down with good beer or wine.   
Trying not to get caught in the Ardennes speed traps at the weekend.  (car  )
Great hunters meats during the shooting season in local restaurants............................

I lived in Uccle (Fort Jaco) and Ixelles, (Place Flagey & La Bascule).
Family moved there in 1974 and I left in 1985.
At one point I worked for ITT (huge tower block) at the Bois de la Cambre end of Avenue Louise.

Frites avec sauce Andalouse, Frikandel and a coke! YUM!

Only got nailed by one speed trap (Gatso) and they only got the bottom 3 digits of my plate. 
I love riding in the Ardennes including the French Ardennes (Semois valley) and Luxembourg.

My sister still lives in Bruxelles and Dad is in Luxembourg.
Alors je suis courament Francophone, mais avec un accent carrement Bruxellois, Quoi!!

Sorry Mr Boomer, I must have been thinking of a sandwich as I wrote.  I was there from 1973 to end of 76.  I Rented an apartment on the corner of Av Brugmann (city end) an art deco building opposite that famous art nouveau house.

I believe we could bore the world with yarns of Bruxelles but we had better not or, big as we are they will take us down


Mon français, telle que je la parle, on dit de sonner soit belge soit allemande. Les Allemands disent que je parle avec un acent français. La chose la plus importante est que je ne parle pas avec un accent anglais
