why on earth would one need to listen to music  .... i have a 1400cc symphony under me, playing through the finest Bos system..... Mmmmmm crackle on the over-run... :punk:

Your absolutely right Mogster. Most of the time i prefer listening to/hearing what the bike is doing, however, I'm off to Germany soon for a week. One of the group has recently passed their test and rides a cb500. Can't see the GTR soundtrack getting turned up loud on that trip. plodding along listening to some music might make a nice change. Kawadolph, good link thanks, doesnt seem too difficult afterall.

Just get rid of your Apple products. They are a pile of  :shit: anyway.

Apple are more of a fashion company than a technology company. As for iTunes - worst piece of bloatware ever.

18 months ago, I changed my Nokia N95 house brick which did everything perfectly for an iPhone 4...what a load of crap that was....the best thing about it was, I got £100 more for it when I sold it than it cost new

The iPhone has now gone and been replaced with a Nokia Lumia 800 its the dogs doo dahs

Roger, what didn't you like about the I-phone 4?

O.C.

Steve, Its function system was, to me a ballache, and the fact that it struggled to get a signal where I live. I ended up buying an aluminium lined case which helped and installing a home signal booster..I do live in the 'sticks'

I NEVER had any problem with its Nokia predecessor, nor have I had any problem with its succesor the Nokia Lumia

I already have a Samsung Galaxy 2 so I would just need to get a waterproof holder.
It can do SatNav, MP3 player, phone, web-browser, TV player, games console, and at some point if I get REALLY bored I might even actually ride the bike.

SatNavs are dead.  :rip:
iPhone is a fashion accessory.
The future is Android!  :alien:  :punk:

It won't be long now before you can buy TomTom or Garmin to run on your Android device, if they have any sense (already available for JesusPhone users).

Apart from Google Navigation, there are already several very good SatNav Apps for the Droid mostly based on OpenMap.
NavFree is even free.

Droid, iOS, Symbian, Windows Mobile 7, they can all do it all.
Just Droid and iOS are best supported with Apps.

But only if you own a smart phone, pay a monthly contract and stay in the UK. :ohplease:
If you go to the mainland it will be quite expensive due to exorbitant roaming charges!    :hammer:
:listencarefully: I don't need a smart-phone, so why buy one and pay through the nose?

So instead are you going to buy a £500 satnav that does one thing only?
I have a cheap satnav (Garmin Nuvi 205) for the car and Google Navigator is better.
As for NavFree it downloads your maps before you go so no roaming charges.

I find when I go abroad I need the internet. So I normally buy a SIM particular to that country and off I go.
My sat nav is a cheapo 40 quidish unit I bought about 5 years ago. Does the job. I always have my mobile as a backup.

I see it the other way around.
:listencarefully: Why buy a sat nav with a tiny display that isn't waterproof and can't be operated with gloves on just because it can also be used as a phone?  :whistling:
