It really was a beautiful day here today, once the early morning gloom dissapeared, and I was out around Bowness on Windermere, which was sunny and warm, then I travelled to Keswick in the North Lakes, where the sun was bouncing off the top of the fells..... all was well in my world

However, it would have been so much better if I'd been on two wheels instead of driving a multi-wheeler

Just watch It'll bloody well rain tommorow.

Thanks Rog, Yes but the second one of those links wont work for me, but chances are that the MCN reported one is the one I have heard about. I'll see if I can find anything on it elsewhere. I  am going to a footie match today, so it will be tomorrow for me.

Yep...I'm up for that... what time suits you sir

I've done a bit more checking and the cafe is called the Filling Station and seems to be paret of 'Lakes Escape' Triumph bike hire..I can't seem to find a postcode for the cafe, but it gives this description of its location...Geoff if you copy and paste the link inot Google you might find it that way

"Conveniently located just 150yds off the A66 at the main roundabout outside Keswick the location was a former filling station that served the local community for decades with cars, bikes and vans driving in and out safely each and every day. The only difference this time is that we hope you stay a bit longer."

Hmm, I think I too may pay a visit to this place while I'm off next week and support the venue. I will also pay a visit to the pub opposite and enquire as to why they are so opposed to the concept of bikes visiting this location.

Rog Sorry been out all day only just got back.     I have told a mate of mine that I will meet him up at the "Bridge" at 9-30  then probably leave there about 10-30 to 11-00 and go the back roads up to Bowness, then the main drag up to Keswick. Is that any good to you?

That sounds fine......I could meet you in Bowness at 11.30..suggest at the road end to the Hawkeshead ferry,,,I'll wait at the side of the road...if I'm not there for whatever reason, don't hang about..

See you tommorow

Well we hardy/tough as old boots Northern Monkeys did it again...Bowness on Windermere to Keswick, where we enjoyed a nice snack in the "Filling Station Cafe" which is biker themed with good grub and good value, a refueling stop and then on to Pooley bridge via every back road in the county  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: and return to Devils Bridge via Askham and Shap and I have to say a good few villages that I have never even heard of before let alone visited.

All in all the 6 bikes that made the run really enjoyed the day. Weather was a bit 'iffy' and so no pics were taken, and the bikes will need a good wash now. The weather has been on the cool side varying between 7c and 5c and the ride through the cloud cover over Shap wasn't that bad, there was some dry parts, a couple of sunny(ish) areas and plenty drizzle/rain

Thanks to you for the company Geoff and to the rest of the guys for a bloody good day out....I reckon its tme for some nice grub and maybe a beer or two

What did the rest of you do today .....
